Project Manager (General)

Responsibilities

• Oversee management and execution of construction contracts and work orders.
• Provide direct supervision and leadership to project teams.
• Coordinate and collaborate with other Project Managers as needed.
• Monitor performance of Superintendents and Foremen on assigned contracts.
• Prepare, develop, and collaborate on project work proposals.
• Negotiate change orders and resolve financial disputes with owners.
• Serve as the primary administrative point of contact for project owners.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the project scope of work.
• Prepare, track, and maintain detailed project cost reports.
• Document, manage, and negotiate project changes impacting schedule or contract costs.
• Develop and implement field quality assurance and quality control plans.
• Partner with Superintendents to develop and enforce project safety plans.
• Manage and ensure compliance with MBE/WBE subcontracting requirements.
• Ensure adherence to EEO and Affirmative Action contract requirements.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering, or a minimum of seven years of relevant construction experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and oversee personnel concurrently.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety practices and OSHA regulations.
• Working knowledge of construction subtrades, project design, cost reporting, and cash flow management.
• Ability to read, interpret, and understand blueprints, drawings, and applicable contract documents.
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proactive mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with project management and scheduling software, including Microsoft 365, HCSS, Sage, and Bluebeam.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience managing Job Order Contract (JOC) projects preferred.
• Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse range of employees, customers, and stakeholders.

Work Environment

• Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, or as needed to meet business needs.
• The position is split between the office and job-site visits, primarily around the greater Chicagoland Area.
• The candidate will have their own desk and setup in the office located in a corporate park in Rosemont, with close proximity to various project locations.
• Flexibility and willingness to commute to different sites are essential.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $57.69 - $76.92/hr.
