Project Manager - Fire Alarm & Life Safety Systems
This role supports our Morristown, NJ branch location, which serves customers throughout the greater New York City, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, and northern New Jersey areas.
About the role
As a Project Manager, you will facilitate the execution of project/program solution plans for clearly defined sub-projects or sub-programs. This role requires coordination and delivery of multiple, simultaneous projects considered small to medium in complexity with financial impact between $100K and $2.5M. You will have fiscal responsibility for all project facets, including project billing, job cost reporting, and overall customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Deliver results for respective process steps and guide technical or administrative staff.
- Act as a functional process resource on projects or programs.
- Maintain functionally focused client relationships.
- Manage several small projects.
- Review project specifications, drawings, and project-specific documents to establish project intent.
- Develop and maintain a project schedule and coordinate needs with the project team.
- Identify time-sensitive installation needs.
- Manage the requisition of supplies and materials to complete projects.
- Review plans and specifications and participate in project cost reviews.
- Assist Operations Manager in the solicitation and contracting of subcontractors.
- Conduct orientation for project technicians and provide project documentation, including scope of work, drawings, applicable specifications, application-engineered drawings, and project contacts.
- Track resources and project progress.
- Document project events that impact the schedule, scope of work, and project efficiency.
- Pursue project-specific change-order opportunities.
- Coordinate and pursue project-specific billing; coordinate with Accounting team and Operations Manager.
- Schedule project-specific commissioning resources and provide commissioning documentation.
- Expedite the return of project-specific mark-ups for as-built development.
- Complete project-specific close-out documentation.
- Effectively manage and coordinate subcontractors to meet scope, scheduling, and financial requirements.
- Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures; report unsafe conditions and actions.
Requirements
- Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to customers.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
- Verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Technical experience in the commercial Fire and Life Safety industry.
- 1+ years of experience managing projects.
- Knowledgeable of local and national (NFPA) Fire Alarm codes and regulations.
- Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree (preferred).
- 3+ years of technical experience in the fire and life safety industry (preferred).
- NICET Level I or II or higher certification in Fire Alarm Systems (preferred).

Pay
The pay range for this position is $82,610 - $141,617 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may vary depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
