Project Manager, Facades
About the role
Digital Building Components, part of the DPR Family of Companies, is seeking a Project Manager to oversee all aspects of construction projects from design phase to completion. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the construction and fabrication process, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal and external disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Supervise multiple personnel within the project team.
- Manage projects through the design and coordination process, ensuring delivery aligns with customer expectations.
- Coordinate architectural design, structural engineering, and modeling progress.
- Collaborate with general contractors and adjacent subcontractors during the design phase.
- Prepare and manage permit document submissions to relevant parties.
- Secure fabrication approval from the general contractor/architect.
- Oversee the internal model coordination process to ensure timely and effective project alignment.
- Coordinate installation with installation teams and the general contractor.
- Provide on-site support to installation teams for questions or issues.
- Monitor and manage project budgets, including design, engineering, modeling, and project management performance.
- Track project impacts, prepare and submit change orders, and negotiate as required.
- Prepare and submit project billings and forecast costs.
- Serve as the primary customer contact from project award through installation.
- Proactively communicate with customers, balancing service excellence with business interests.
- Build strong relationships with customers and external project teams through open collaboration.
- Maintain regular communication with customers regarding material status and project schedules.
- Travel occasionally to project sites for coordination and planning.
Requirements
- 5 years of commercial construction project management experience.
- Experience managing design, modeling, or detailing activities.
- Experience leading a team of 5 or more people.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or 5+ years of commercial construction project management experience.
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership and team direction abilities.
- Diplomatic problem-solving for complex issues.
- Effective collaboration in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Revu BlueBeam.
- Revit or AutoCAD experience is a plus.
- Strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
