Project Manager, Engineering

About the role
This position provides support and drives activities that align with the overall long-range plan, ensuring the plant remains competitive and meets all required cost, compliance, and customer service commitments. Key activities include new product introductions (NPI), efficiency improvement projects, financial oversight of long-range plan commitments, and future strategy and vision development.
Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of NPI projects, including strategic decisions, stakeholder management, scheduling, team meetings, budget, communication, and supplier/customer management to ensure filing and launch targets are met.
- Set and lead site NPI program strategy, including stage and gate meetings and timelines to meet program objectives.
- Matrix-manage a team of site operations personnel assigned to plan, implement, and execute NPI projects.
- Create comprehensive project plans, budgets, and strategies for assigned projects. Translate plans into measurable actions and execute them according to local plant procedures.
- Establish and host periodic progress updates for plant management.
- Represent and provide project status updates to MES and external leadership as required.
- Anticipate roadblocks and elevate concerns when appropriate. Proactively drive development of contingency and risk-mitigation plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in science or a technical field. MBA is beneficial and preferred.
- 5–10 years of experience in areas such as supply chain, customer service, manufacturing, engineering, and project management.
- Broad business perspective and understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Strong project experience and ability to influence others.
- Strong strategy development and planning skills, with knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing and supply activities.
- Strong issue identification, problem analysis, and solution execution based on gathered data.
- Proficiency with common program management communication software tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of business financial systems and tools.
- Collaborative approach in working with global teams and stakeholders.
- Proven leadership ability with excellent communication skills, including listening, verbal presentation, and written communication.
Pay
The compensation range for this role is based on the job grade and may vary depending on geographic location. Individual compensation will be determined by factors such as location and may fall within or outside the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
