Project Manager / Engineer-Strategic Accounts

About the Role
Flow Control Group is seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Project Manager / Engineer to serve as a technical and organizational bridge across the FCG ecosystem. This role requires a dynamic professional with a comprehensive understanding of all FCG brands and technology groups. You will work closely with leadership across our distinct brands to streamline engineering solutions, ensure project alignment, and drive growth. Daily collaboration with Senior Estimators, Inside Sales Representatives, and Strategic Account Managers will take complex technical projects from initial estimation through execution and delivery.
Responsibilities
- Brand & Technology Integration: Maintain an in-depth, comprehensive knowledge of all FCG brands, products, and technology groups. Identify cross-brand opportunities to create comprehensive flow control solutions for customers.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner daily with Inside Sales Representatives, Senior Estimators, and Strategic Account Managers to evaluate project scopes, review engineering specifications, and ensure technical alignment on high-value accounts.
- Project Execution & Management: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of complex engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest technical and quality standards.
- Cost Control & Change Orders: Manage project financials, enforce cost controls, and protect gross margins. Identify and capture out-of-scope requests early, executing change orders and ensuring all budget modifications are fully documented, approved, and integrated into the billing process.
- Leadership Stakeholder Management: Work closely with brand leadership to align project strategies with broader corporate initiatives, managing communication across multiple internal organizational structures.
- Technical Consultation: Serve as a subject matter expert on flow control technologies (valves, automation, pumps, instrumentation), providing technical support during the bidding and proposal phase.
- Risk & Quality Management: Review technical drawings, data sheets, and project documentation to mitigate risk, ensure compliance with industry standards, and maintain the integrity of delivered solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in the industrial flow control, fluid handling, valve automation, or instrumentation industry is strictly required.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field (or equivalent specialized industry experience).
- Strong working knowledge of various flow control technologies, equipment, and industry applications. Familiarity with the specific product lines and markets served by Flow Control Group brands is highly preferred.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build relationships and work effectively with executive leadership, sales teams, estimators, and external clients.
- Highly organized with a demonstrated track record of managing multiple technical projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. PMP certification is a plus.
- Strong analytical and engineering problem-solving capabilities, with a keen eye for detail in technical specifications and commercial estimations.
