Responsibilities
- Hold overall responsibility for assigned projects of low to medium scope and complexity, ensuring total project success in people, product, and profit.
- Confirm project scope and requirements with clients and stakeholders, collaborating with the Client Relationship Manager (CRM) or Location Leader as needed.
- Develop a financial plan for the project, including negotiating fees and contracts, preparing proposal letters, and participating in man-hour budgeting.
- Assist in developing the project staffing plan and preliminary man-hour budget with the Senior Project Manager (PM), CRM, Department Head, or Location Leader.
- Ensure a Project Coordinator (PC) is assigned and work with them to complete the BIM Questionnaire for proper model setup and information flow.
- Structure and participate in project kick-off meetings to convey scope, client expectations, standards, and man-hour budgets.
- Work with the design team to confirm a final man-hour budget based on discipline work plans.
- Understand client schedule expectations, propose interim milestones, and adjust the schedule as necessary.
- Schedule work, communicate schedule information, monitor manpower requirements, and update eResource with current man-hour projections.
- Prepare and implement a proactive Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plan for projects.
- Ensure invoices are accurate and delivered timely, monitor collections, and update projected monthly revenue earnings.
- Attend meetings with owners, clients, and architects; facilitate communication and document important issues.
- Monitor project budget and schedule work in accordance with man-hour budgets.
- Identify, negotiate, and administer fees for additional services as needed.
- Build and grow business relationships vital to project success and engage in business development with the current client base.
- Perform risk assessments and manage risks throughout the project.
- Respond to contractors’ and clients’ requests for information quickly and efficiently.
- Manage the Construction Administration (CA) process by designating CA personnel to ensure building systems are installed per design and quality standards.
- Supervise the job closeout process to ensure documentation, lessons learned, and filings are complete.
- Work alongside and engage with the Senior PM, CRM, or Location Leader to increase knowledge of project scope, budgeting, and revenue projections.
- Actively attend internal and external training and educational opportunities to gain knowledge in necessary technical areas.
Requirements
- Technical or Bachelor’s degree in one of the major technical disciplines practiced by the firm with ten years of practical experience on similar projects.
- Professional Engineer Licensure.
- Healthcare building design experience preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies.
- Knowledge of project approach and system design.
- Basic accounting knowledge and ability to create and maintain budgets.
- Comfortable working with clients.
