Project Manager - Dynamic Engineering

About the role

The Project Manager is responsible for project management, leadership, profitability, and client management for a design team. This is a leadership position that includes mentoring and developing staff while maintaining presence and leadership throughout the regions where we do business through involvement in civic, professional, and business organizations.

Responsibilities

• Project Management in the areas of Land Development Plan Design, Stormwater Management Design, Water and Sanitary Sewer Design, and Erosion and Sedimentation Control Design
• Manage team assignments and balance workload in a deadline-driven environment
• Provide vision and guidance to the firm in the area of Project Management
• Drive growth of the company’s business model and promote business development
• Quality Control
• Permitting of federal, state, and local regulatory agencies
• Provide technical assistance to staff and clients in resolving problems
• Prepare presentations to various land use related boards and jurisdictional agencies
• Build and manage client relationships, program and project management, and promote strategic alliances
• Prepare proposals
• Guide, manage, and support the delivery of projects and programs to ensure quality, on-schedule, and on-budget completion
• Financial management of projects including accounts receivable
• Lead projects through hands-on project management and actively manage the project plan, deliverables, dependencies, and outcome of assigned projects
• Client management and overall satisfaction
• Mentor and develop staff
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• 7+ years’ experience in Civil Site Engineering (residential, institutional, industrial, and/or commercial site design and permitting experience)
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration required (or ability to obtain PE license within 1 year of employment)
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to maintain and operate personal and/or company vehicle

Skills

• Familiar with AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Knowledge of Truck and Turning & Modeling software
• In-depth knowledge of the planning and zoning processes
• Knowledge of Hydrologic and Hydraulic Stormwater Design
• Proficient in design and drafting capabilities
• Proficient grading and drainage design skills
• Utility design experience including pump station and force mains
• Experience dealing with regulatory agencies and review professionals
• Proficient in the use of available mapping websites for due diligence and site investigation purposes
• Construction oversight experience for site work
• Proficient in the use of the following design tools for site engineering:
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Hydrology Software (e.g., ICPR and Cascade)
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project
• Proficient in the use of Bluebeam Revu and/or Adobe to prepare design document markups
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Independent and critical thinking abilities
• Superior organizational and delegation ability
• Ability to work and lead in a team-oriented environment with a focus on staff development and mentoring
• Client management experience
