Project Manager - DC Inspections

About the Role

IBTS is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Non-IT Project Manager with strong experience in the construction industry to join our team. This hybrid position includes hands-on project management responsibilities for current programs, providing comprehensive oversight for current and future initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely deliverables per client requirements.
  • Oversee report generation and quality assurance of all report submissions.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with clients, teaming partners, subcontractors, and government personnel.
  • Supervise Project Assistants.
  • Organize and develop programs to support the organization’s strategic direction, including creating and managing long-term goals.
  • Set program controls, governance, and standards.
  • Provide strategic, technical, operational, financial, and managerial leadership for successful project implementation.
  • Oversee business development initiatives and develop strategic partnerships to grow contract business.
  • Develop and monitor budgets for projects and overall programs.
  • Conduct requirements analysis, resource allocation, project costing, deliverable tracking, and schedule/financial data monitoring and reporting.
  • Manage and submit reports and program documentation throughout the project lifecycle; analyze program risks.
  • Provide regular updates to clients, stakeholders, and executives on project progress and performance.
  • Manage teams with diverse talents and responsibilities across different geographic locations.
  • Ensure projects deliver specified results and meet quality expectations.
  • Leverage industry best practices to achieve optimum contract performance.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks to avoid delays and cost overruns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in an engineering or architecture-related technical field (preferred).
  • 5 years of project management experience, including managing projects ranging in size from $10K to $1M and IDIQ contracts.
  • Certified Building Official (CBO) certification (required).
  • Licensed Engineer (PE), Registered Architect, or ICC Master Code Professional (MCP) (preferred).
  • PMP certification or ability to achieve within 12 months of start date.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent project management platforms/tools.
  • Ability to meet eligibility requirements for U.S. citizenship, government passes, and access to Federal installations.
  • Demonstrated success in providing exceptional customer service and managing high-visibility client programs.
  • Experience interfacing with senior executive stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently or in a team environment with strong collaboration skills.
  • Experience working with team partners and overseeing subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of project management methodology, performance evaluation, and change management principles.
  • Direct experience managing multi-task contracts and subcontracts of varying complexity.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a proven ability to develop, mentor, and lead professional staff.
  • Experience working in the public sector (a strong plus).

Additional Details

  • Travel required: up to 25%, primarily local (currently to Washington, DC).
  • Hybrid position with occasional work at the Ashburn, VA headquarters.
