Project Manager | Database Administration | DB2 on Mainframe

Location: Chicago, IL 60604 – 12-month contract starting 06 Aug 2026.

About the role

Develop and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL to support business processes. Design, write, and optimize JCL jobs for batch processing and scheduling. Work with DB2 databases for data storage, retrieval, query optimization, and performance tuning. Develop and support CICS online programs for real-time transaction processing. Handle VSAM files for data storage, access, and file management operations. Analyze business requirements and provide techno-functional solutions in a mainframe environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain COBOL-based mainframe applications
• Design, write, and optimize JCL jobs for batch processing and scheduling
• Manage DB2 databases: storage, retrieval, query optimization, and performance tuning
• Develop and support CICS online programs for real-time transaction processing
• Handle VSAM files for data storage, access, and file management operations
• Analyze business requirements and deliver techno-functional solutions

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of mainframe experience
• Proficiency in Mainframe, JCL, COBOL, DB2, VSAM, CICS
• Experience with production support and ITSM processes
• Knowledge of Fund Accounting / Security Lending domain
