Project Manager - Data Center Construction
About the role
The Data Center Project Manager will oversee procurement activities, lead on-site project meetings, manage project documentation, ensure quality standards, collaborate with engineering teams, drive project kickoff and closeout processes, track project finances, facilitate communication across disciplines, promote safety and quality, manage vendor performance, and assist in developing project execution plans.
Responsibilities
- Oversee procurement activities, including soliciting bids, reviewing proposals, and selecting qualified subcontractors and suppliers.
- Lead on-site project meetings to ensure alignment between construction teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other critical project documentation.
- Ensure all project deliverables meet quality standards through routine site inspections and adherence to specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve design issues and ensure constructability.
- Drive project kickoff and closeout processes, ensuring thorough documentation and smooth handoff.
- Track project financials, analyze cost trends, and report variances proactively.
- Cook up vendor performance and ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Assist in developing project execution plans and construction methodologies tailored to data center requirements.
- Facilitate communication across disciplines to ensure alignment on scope, schedule, and technical requirements.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across all project phases.
Requirements
The successful applicant will have a strong background in construction project management, ideally with experience supporting projects within the business services or commercial construction sectors, demonstrating an ability to navigate complex scopes, stakeholder expectations, and fast-paced environments. They should also have a proven track record of managing multiple concurrent projects, each with competing priorities and deadlines, while maintaining clear oversight of schedules, budgets, deliverables, and team coordination. Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate challenges, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions quickly and efficiently, are essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, enabling the candidate to coordinate seamlessly with clients, internal teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders at all levels throughout the project lifecycle, are also required. High proficiency in project management software and digital tools (such as Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, or similar platforms), ensuring accurate documentation, efficient workflows, and strong project visibility, is necessary. A demonstrated commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and compliance, ensuring all work adheres to company policies, industry regulations, and best practices, is crucial. Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents, providing clear direction and oversight during planning and execution phases, is expected. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a relevant degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, and possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management, preferably with experience supporting projects within the business services or commercial construction sectors. They should also have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel as needed.

Pay
$130,000 to $150,000 annually, commensurate with experience, expertise, and project portfolio.
