Project Manager, Customer Installations Group - West Coast

About the role

Bloom Energy is pioneering the global energy transition with solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) and solid oxide electrolyzer (SOEC) technologies that deliver clean, reliable, and affordable energy. This role reports to the Director, Global Program Management and is based in San Jose, CA. The position is fully on-site, in-office, 5 days a week with 30-50% travel to customer sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Define the baseline schedule and execution strategy to deliver the Statement of Work (SOW) to the client following Customer Contract execution.
• Manage cost, schedule, and risks using project management fundamentals.
• Negotiate and fulfill design and construction contracts.
• Complete construction and project documentation to meet all technical and governmental standards.
• Lead regulatory outreach and permit acquisition.
• Oversee the gas and electrical utility interconnection process.
• Develop construction bid documents.
• Manage project commissioning.
• Regularly interface with internal Bloom Energy cross-functional resources and subject matter experts.
• Participate in Bloom Energy’s product offering innovation process.
• Ensure exemplary safety and performance through specific metrics during site construction and commissioning.
• Guarantee 100% customer satisfaction with the product and site energy server installation experience.
• Deliver presentations confidently to all project stakeholders and sell new ideas to Bloom Energy senior leadership and its customer base.

Requirements

• 8+ years of project management experience, including 2+ years in distributed energy solutions.
• Experience managing multiple, schedule-constrained, large capital projects with multiple contractors.
• Renewable energy experience at scales less than 50 MW is strongly preferred.
• Project management experience should include budget management, earned value forecasting, schedules, design contracts, and construction contracts.
• Experience producing results with gas and electrical utilities and leading local, state, and federal permitting efforts is strongly preferred.
• Extremely organized with the ability to confidently communicate project status and risk mitigation strategies to senior executive leadership with little notice.
• Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams of subject matter experts is strongly preferred.
• B.S. in Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Electrical, and/or Mechanical) required; other technical degrees (Construction Management, Architecture, etc.) will be considered.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
• Proficiency in scheduling software programs: Microsoft Project and/or P6.

Pay

Salary Range: $131,500.00 - $189,300.00
