Project Manager, Construction Material Testing

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Project Manager for Construction Material Testing and Special Inspections to join our Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in Waukesha, WI. This role offers a versatile career opportunity in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry.

About the role

The Project Manager is responsible for performing testing, project-specific observations, and site assessments under general supervision. This position involves managing client relationships, project budgets, and field personnel while ensuring compliance with controlled procedures.

Responsibilities

• Understand the Construction Materials Testing business
• Conduct and attend project meetings, maintain client relationships, and develop new project opportunities
• Review project setup, prepare advanced proposals for internal and external review, and follow up
• Complete contract review and negotiation
• Monitor project budget and initiate change orders
• Review, prepare, and submit invoices
• Perform project close-out duties
• Supervise field personnel
• Assist with equipment issues, replacements, and lab, field, or administrative duties as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Geotechnical Engineering
• Some experience in Construction Materials Testing
• Effective communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) and solid interpersonal skills
• Completion of internal PMCP within 6 months of hire
• Ability to lead and supervise others
• Must be able to work off-shift and overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
• 3+ years of experience as a project manager
• 5+ years of Construction Materials Testing and/or special inspection experience
• ICC, ACI, or WisDOT Certifications
