About the Role

This 100% onsite position supervises, inspects, and controls all preventive maintenance and repair of buildings, mechanical systems, electrical requirements, and related services for our NAVAL BASE SAN DIEGO contract. The Project Manager will display effective leadership and supervision of employees to achieve teamwork, cooperation, and results while monitoring efficiency, productivity, and fiscal responsibility. The ideal candidate will have experience managing skilled trade teams within a military environment and will report to the Program Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of contractual requirements and creation of schedules to maintain properly skilled staffing levels.
  • Approves vacation time, overtime, and timecards.
  • Trains new employees on work-related equipment.
  • Ensures all equipment (HVAC systems, water treatment systems, electrical systems, emergency generator systems, and other mechanical systems) is in proper working condition.
  • Orders replacement items through purchasing and works with vendors regarding repairs to existing equipment.
  • Performs additional duties on an "as required" basis.
  • Issues reports and summaries as required.
  • Maintains appropriate records and statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes.
  • Resolves clients' concerns, conducts follow-up calls, and makes onsite visit inspections for satisfactory job performance.
  • Meets periodically with clients and on-site personnel to review facility services and institute corrective measures for deficiencies.
  • Creates estimates as needed.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in O&M of building operational systems, including HVAC, fire suppression systems, environmental, and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project).
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification or equivalent.
  • College degree or certification in a related field.
  • Prior experience working with Federal contracts.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification.
  • Prior experience with NAVFAC or DoD construction/maintenance projects.
  • HVAC industry experience or former Mechanical Technician experience.
  • Experience in building management, inventory control, and work orders.
