Job Responsibilities
- Affords assistance in responding to Request for Proposals (RFPs), including the creation of conceptual estimates, schedules, and proposal documents.
- Participates in client presentations if needed.
- Maintains oversight of the progress of design documents.
- Attends and contributes to design review meetings, offering insights on constructability, scope, and cost changes.
- Prepares detailed estimates, cost codes, and cost control systems.
- Develops bid packages, invites bids, analyzes bids, qualifies subcontractors, and awards subcontracts and major purchase orders.
- Collaborates with the director of construction and construction core personnel to organize the project, including the superintendent and Project Coordinating Engineers (PCE).
- Schedules, sequences, and manages the project, conducting job site meetings and updating schedules.
- Controls project costs, including updating labor cost reports, summary cost reports, and project status summaries.
- Prepares requisitions for payment and other required project invoicing, maximizing project cash flow through invoicing and collections.
- Handles contract change orders, ensuring their acceptance by the owner, updating the budget in the summary cost report, and issuing modifications to subcontracts and purchase orders after acceptance.
- Reviews and monitors project progress, quality, and safety, working with the superintendent to ensure compliance with contract and company policies and procedures.
- Supports the development of construction personnel through mentoring and on-the-job training.
- Manages project close-out tasks and any warranty work.
Requirements
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in construction management.
Qualifications
- Expertise in managing resources, including budgets, schedules, and materials, in a high-pressure, multi-tasking environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of estimating, construction methods, engineering, equipment, and technology.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Requires ordinary ambulatory skills to visit other locations.
- Must have the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds.
- Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp.
- Requires visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read application/form information.
- Frequent sitting, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and hearing are required.
