What Can You Expect
- Be proficient and perform all roles and responsibilities of a Project Engineer and Assistant Project Manager while managing multiple projects dependent upon staff.
- Responsible for management of construction projects from beginning to end in accordance and maintaining the requirements of the "Super Six."
- Train and develop Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers and Interns and provide support to the on site Senior Project Manager.
- Develop and create a comprehensive procurement/ buyout strategy including the completion of the "Buyout Log" to comply with the requirements of the Owner Contract and the internal "90 Day" buyout completion target.
- Review and understand complete project scope of work based on contract requirements including: drawings, specifications, estimates, schedules and applicable building codes in order to plan, negotiate and coordinate all aspects of the construction process including hiring subcontractors and working with engineers, architects and vendors.
- Identify long lead time materials and plan accordingly through Management Tracking Log and Gantt Chart Critical Path Schedule.
- Meet and update regularly (weekly at a minimum) with team to document gains and losses to baseline schedule.
- Develop a comprehensive project business plan with the project team to maximize fee, minimize waste, strategize on buyout of trades, establish contingency, determine schedule improvements and fee enhancement opportunities.
- Confer with supervisors or other managers to monitor construction progress, including worker productivity and compliance with building and safety codes.
What You Bring to the Table
- Must be able to monitor and understand the overall financial status throughout the duration of a project including: subcontract status, vendor status, labor/payroll, small tools, construction equipment, material tracking log, miscellaneous materials and project overhead.
- Must possess working knowledge of or demonstrate a willingness to learn how to use the following software applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, Bluebeam, ProCore/Project Sight, MS Project, Viewpoint, Viewpoint Field Work Center
- Strong written and oral communications skills.
