About the role
Stantec’s Colorado Construction Management Group is seeking a Project Manager with extensive experience in heavy civil transportation construction. This role offers flexibility in location within Colorado.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and report on the work being executed by the construction contractor(s) and their sub-contractors.
- Oversee a team that includes project controls, construction inspectors, and administration staff.
- Advise the client on issues and risks observed and provide recommendations for remedial actions.
- Lead the preparation and coordination of project deliverables and documents, including project reports, cost and schedule reporting, and engineering documents.
- Maintain compliance with schedules, budgets, technical specifications, and legal requirements.
- Examine field conditions as needed to support project completion.
- Review contractor requests for changes and prepare contract change orders when necessary.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Primavera skills are desirable.
- OSHA certification preferred.
- Technical expertise in relevant areas of design and construction.
- Thorough knowledge of construction management, practices, and methods.
- Highly effective in building and maintaining client relationships.
- Understanding of legal design and construction requirements for public works contracts.
- Knowledge of code compliance requirements and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration in the State of Colorado, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- 10 years of experience in heavy civil transportation construction, with 5 years in a leadership role.
- Candidates with non-technical degrees will be considered based on experience.
- Experience with Colorado Department of Transportation and/or Local Agency projects as Project Engineer or Assistant Project Engineer is preferred.
