About the role

Stantec’s Colorado Construction Management Group is seeking a Project Manager with extensive experience in heavy civil transportation construction. This role offers flexibility in location within Colorado.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report on the work being executed by the construction contractor(s) and their sub-contractors.
  • Oversee a team that includes project controls, construction inspectors, and administration staff.
  • Advise the client on issues and risks observed and provide recommendations for remedial actions.
  • Lead the preparation and coordination of project deliverables and documents, including project reports, cost and schedule reporting, and engineering documents.
  • Maintain compliance with schedules, budgets, technical specifications, and legal requirements.
  • Examine field conditions as needed to support project completion.
  • Review contractor requests for changes and prepare contract change orders when necessary.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Primavera skills are desirable.
  • OSHA certification preferred.
  • Technical expertise in relevant areas of design and construction.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction management, practices, and methods.
  • Highly effective in building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Understanding of legal design and construction requirements for public works contracts.
  • Knowledge of code compliance requirements and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration in the State of Colorado, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • 10 years of experience in heavy civil transportation construction, with 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Candidates with non-technical degrees will be considered based on experience.
  • Experience with Colorado Department of Transportation and/or Local Agency projects as Project Engineer or Assistant Project Engineer is preferred.
