About the role

The Project Manager role supports the Shoreview, MN branch of Siemens, located in the greater Minneapolis, MN area. Siemens empowers customers by bridging the real and digital worlds, aiming to improve lives through sustainable progress.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the execution of project/program solution plans for sub-projects or sub-programs.
  • Coordinate and deliver multiple, simultaneous projects with financial impact between $100K and $2.5M.
  • Have fiscal responsibility for all project facets, including project billing, job cost reporting, and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Be responsible for delivering results for the respective process steps.
  • Guide technical or administrative staff.
  • Act as a functional process resource on projects or programs.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement plans.
  • Perform an active role in maintaining functionally focused client relationships.
  • Be responsible for several small projects.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and project-specific documents to establish project intent.
  • Develop and maintain a project schedule and coordinate needs with the project team.
  • Identify time-sensitive installation needs.
  • Manage the requisition of supplies and materials to complete projects.
  • Review plans and specifications and participate in project cost reviews.
  • Aid in the solicitation and contracting of subcontractors.
  • Conduct an orientation for project technicians and provide project documentation.
  • Track resources and projects progress.
  • Document project events that impact the schedule, scope of work, and project efficiency.
  • Pursue project-specific change-order opportunities.
  • Coordinate and pursue project-specific billing; coordinate with Accounting team and Operations Manager.
  • Schedule project-specific commissioning resources and provide commissioning documentation.
  • Expedite the return of project-specific mark-ups for as-built development.
  • Complete project-specific close-out documentation.
  • Effectively manage and coordinate subcontractors to meet scope, scheduling, and financial requirements.
  • Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures; report unsafe conditions and actions.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree
  • Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Technical experience in the HVAC controls industry; 3+ years preferred
  • 1+ years of experience managing projects
  • Knowledge and understanding of HVAC industry applications; ability to read and understand MEP drawings and specifications, and electrical, network, and control wiring diagrams
  • Knowledge of industry-standard communication protocols such as Ethernet, Modbus, and BACnet
  • Bachelor of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree (preferred)
  • 3+ years of technical experience in the HVAC controls industry
  • Previous experience in construction management or building automation (preferred)
