About the role

This position provides project management and engineering support to customers as well as leadership for WM colleagues on all aspects of project delivery. Work will include project(s) ranging in size up to $30M, with responsibility for ensuring overall project profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Project execution, task identification, prioritization, and scheduling
  • Financial tracking and management to budget
  • Risk management including early problem identification and conflict resolution
  • Procurement, subcontracts, and supporting engineers
  • Communications and meeting leadership, account/client management
  • Development and execution of project execution plans and/or project charters
  • Detailed knowledge of scopes of work
  • Acquisition of resources from BU manager and assignment of work to project teams to meet deadlines
  • Development of engineering schedules for W-M team and customer requirements; proficiency with Microsoft Project, critical path and float analysis, and resource leveling
  • Engineering-related purchasing and subcontractor requirements
  • Development of costs and proposal of change orders to contract scope
  • Management of project profitability including cost projections, cash flow, A/R collections, and project invoicing; ability to independently discern project team’s actual and remaining progress during design, documentation, code configuration, and testing
  • Overall project quality
  • Technical writing including project definition and requirements, status reporting, requests for information, and customer correspondence
  • Project documentation: management of project documentation system, task/periodic status reporting, organization and maintenance of current network-based project files, meeting minutes, action item lists, and preparing purchase orders
  • Identification of sales opportunities, scope change suggestions with justifications, and networking across targeted industries
  • Input to proposals and technical support to closing new business

Requirements

  • BS degree in engineering or related discipline
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Minimum of eight years of project management experience in process-related controls industries implementing successful automation solutions involving PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA platforms
  • Strong leadership and client relation skills
  • Experience in one or more of the following industries: Life Sciences, Data Center, Semiconductor, Specialty Chemicals, Pulp & Paper
  • Experience with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Life Science Computerized System Validation, and cGMP compliance is preferred
  • Experience in managing design of electrical schematics, including power distribution under 480VAC and control panels; associated NEC experience desired
  • Experience leading local and remote teams of engineers/technicians to provide control system solutions
  • Experience mentoring less experienced engineers
  • Professional references, preferably one from each of the following: a subordinate, a peer, and a manager

Skills

  • Rockwell PLC and SCADA systems (preferred)
  • Emerson DeltaV DCS and SCADA (preferred)
  • Additional SCADA/HMI experience a plus, including Ignition and Wonderware System Platform

Schedule

Hybrid mix of standard office environment and work-from-home leadership, with 25-40% travel to client sites in the US. Initial project location in Arkansas for several years, involving diverse industrial environments.
