Project Manager
About the Role
WSP is seeking a Project Manager for our Columbia, MD office to be involved in projects with our Program Management Team in Charles County, MD. This role focuses on managing design consultants and construction contractors for water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, water/wastewater treatment plants, and pumping stations.
Responsibilities
- Manage capital improvement projects including project schedule, budget, and deliverables.
- Coordinate activities of project designers and construction managers.
- Handle permit coordination.
- Provide technical presentations to project teams and stakeholders.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
- 5-7 years of experience in project/construction management of water treatment facilities, wastewater collection systems, pump stations, and treatment facilities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with the practices and principles of design and construction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of water treatment facilities, wastewater collection systems, pump stations, treatment facility systems, construction processes, and project lifecycle management.
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate countywide programs and specific projects.
- Experience with data and information systems management.
- Experience with web-based document management systems such as e-Builder, Unifier, and CM-14.
- Ability to support scheduling for a program of multiple projects, including monitoring costs.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification with a desire to achieve Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
- Ability to lead and conduct large meetings and work in a client setting.

Pay
Expected salary range: $100,800 - $133,600 per year. The final compensation will be based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and internal equity.
