Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and oversee landscape construction and enhancement projects from contract award through project closeout.
- Manage project budgets, job costing, labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor expenses to achieve profitability and gross margin objectives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, property managers, and other stakeholders by providing regular project updates and resolving concerns.
- Conduct routine jobsite visits to monitor project progress, ensure quality standards are met, and proactively address field issues.
- Solicit, negotiate, schedule, and manage subcontractors and vendors while ensuring work is completed according to scope, schedule, and contract requirements.
- Identify, document, price, and manage change orders, obtaining appropriate approvals before additional work is performed.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and contractual requirements while promoting a strong safety culture.
- Support winter snow and ice management operations by overseeing assigned service areas, coordinating crews and resources, and remaining available to respond to snow events on a 24/7 basis during the winter season.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Landscape Management, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Three (3) or more years of project management experience within commercial landscaping, construction, or a related industry.
- Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze job costs, protect project margins, and manage change orders.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management or construction management software.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel between project sites.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Regularly works in both an office setting and active construction sites.
- Frequently walks uneven terrain, climbs, bends, kneels, and stands for extended periods while conducting site inspections.
- Occasionally lifts and carries materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Works outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Travels regularly between project locations, customer sites, and branch offices.
- Participates in winter snow and ice management operations and must be available to respond to snow events on a 24/7 basis during the winter season, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business needs require.
