About the Role

CCCI, a Velociti company, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to own complex telecommunications, structured cabling, and data‑center infrastructure projects from kickoff through completion. The role involves direct customer interaction, coordination of field teams and subcontractors, budget and schedule management, problem solving, and ensuring safe, efficient delivery to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Project Lifecycle: Manage multiple telecommunications, structured cabling, and data‑center infrastructure projects from initiation through closeout; develop execution plans, schedules, budgets, labor estimates, and material takeoffs; review contracts, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Be the Customer’s Go‑To Partner: Serve as the primary point of contact; build relationships with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams; lead project meetings and provide proactive communication; identify follow‑on work opportunities.
  • Drive Field Execution: Partner with Project Superintendents and Foremen to coordinate manpower, resources, materials, and schedules; monitor field productivity, quality, safety, and milestones; support deployments involving copper, fiber optic, MPO/MTP systems, fusion splicing, backbone infrastructure, and other low‑voltage systems; verify BOMs, pathway capacity, containment systems, and equipment requirements.
  • Manage the Business Side of the Project: Track budgets, labor and material costs, forecasts, invoicing, and financial performance; manage change orders and ensure accurate scope documentation; identify risks, address issues early, and escalate significant concerns; monitor profitability and overall performance.
  • Finish Strong: Review daily reports, schedules, testing documentation, project records, and closeout packages; ensure compliance with customer specifications, contractual requirements, applicable codes, and CCCI quality standards; foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5 + years of project coordination or project management experience in telecommunications, structured cabling, low‑voltage, commercial construction, or a related environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing commercial structured cabling, telecommunications, low‑voltage, or data‑center infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of copper, fiber optic, structured cabling, and telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Experience developing estimates, labor forecasts, schedules, and budgets.
  • Working knowledge of contracts, change orders, scope management, and project financial controls.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, problem‑solving, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, CAPM, or comparable project management certification.
  • BICSI Technician, Project Management, or RCDD certification.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Procore, Primavera P6, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
  • Data‑center or mission‑critical infrastructure experience.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional project teams.

Success Metrics

  • On‑time project completion.
  • Customer satisfaction.
  • Quality and safety performance.
  • Effective change‑order management.
  • Accurate project documentation.
  • Strong team and stakeholder communication.
  • Efficient project execution.

Schedule

This onsite position is based in Dulles, Virginia, with frequent travel to customer locations and active project sites (corporate offices, commercial construction sites, data centers, manufacturing facilities, customer campuses, and mission‑critical environments). Because customer schedules may fall outside a traditional 9‑to‑5 workday, occasional evening, weekend, extended‑hour, and overnight travel may be required to support critical project milestones.
