Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of projects and coordinate their completion on time and within budget.
- Direct and manage software project development from initiation through closure.
- Define project scope, goals, objectives, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop full-scale project plans and associated documents.
- Gather, analyze, and manage software requirements ensuring they align with stated project goals and objectives.
- Effectively communicate project statuses to team members, stakeholders, executives, and sponsors in a timely and clear manner.
- Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
- Liaise with various review boards as needed.
- Communicate with developers and users.
- Gather, document, set, and manage project expectations with team members and stakeholders.
- Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve approved project objectives.
- Manage scope, schedule, and budget and recommend changes when necessary.
- Negotiate with managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables using appropriate tools.
- Identify and manage project risks by developing mitigation and/or contingency plans.
- Identify and manage project success criteria and measures of success.
- Manage project accounting on a weekly basis including team hours and expenses, budget, and invoices.
- Conduct project post-reviews, measure projections to actuals, and identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Ensure successful transition of project results to ongoing operations organization.
Requirements
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (Qualifications)
- PMP or other project management certification.
- Experience working with oilfield personnel.
- Experience working in the oil and gas services industry.
