Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, execution, and close-out of H2Gen® capital projects across FEL stages through execution, with day-to-day ownership of assigned work packages and interfaces.
- Maintain project controls deliverables including integrated schedules (Primavera P6 or MS Project), cost reports, cash flow forecasts, change logs, risk registers, and action item registers.
- Assist in developing and tracking work breakdown structures (WBS), project execution plans, basis of design documents, and stage-gate deliverables consistent with Utility Global's project management framework.
- Cook up interfaces between internal engineering disciplines (process, mechanical, electrical, I&C, civil/structural) and external partners including EPC contractors, OSBL providers, equipment vendors, and site owners.
- Track procurement packages from RFQ through PO placement, expediting, inspection, and delivery, working alongside the supply chain team on long-lead equipment and pressure vessels.
- Support permitting and regulatory workstreams for U.S. and international projects, including coordination with environmental consultants on CEQA, air permitting, stormwater, and local authority approvals.
- Participate in project risk identification and mitigation, HAZOP and PHA sessions, constructability reviews, and lessons-learned workshops.
- Prepare clear, concise status reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal leadership, customers, and investors.
- Travel to project sites, fabrication shops, and partner offices as required (estimated 25-50%).
Candidate Profile
- Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Civil, or Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
- 1–4 years of relevant experience in capital projects, project controls, process engineering, or EPC execution — ideally in industrial gases, hydrogen, petrochemicals, refining, LNG, or a comparable heavy-industrial sector.
- Working knowledge of project management fundamentals: scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, procurement, and stakeholder management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, and strong Excel skills for cost tracing, forecasting, and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering deliverables such as P&IDs, PFDs, equipment datasheets, and general arrangement drawings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill technical detail into clear updates for non-technical stakeholders.
- Likely to be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct exposure to hydrogen production, electrolysis, SMR/ATR, air separation, carbon capture, or biogas-to-energy projects.
- Familiarity with front-end loading (FEL) / stage-gate methodologies as practiced by industrial gas majors or EPC firms.
- Experience supporting projects through commissioning, startup, and performance testing in an operating plant environment.
- Working knowledge of U.S. process safety standards (OSHA PSM), ASME codes, and TCEQ or equivalent state environmental frameworks.
