Project Manager

About the role
The Project Manager (PM) manages projects and proposals of higher risk and complexity for the Power Delivery, Field Services, Construction Management, and System Studies practices in the Energy Sector. The PM may also assist a Senior Project Manager (Sr. PM) in coordinating large, high-risk, complex projects and proposals, including EPC in the Energy Sector. The PM manages assigned projects from the proposal stage through completion, ensuring appropriate resources are assigned and deliverables are issued on time and on budget. The role involves managing project budget and schedule, directing Associate Project Managers or Project Coordinators, and maintaining high customer service through clear communication and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Lead project teams in the successful execution of complex projects, acting as the primary project advocate and point of communication.
- Assist Senior Project Managers as an Assistant Project Manager for large, complex projects, supporting the execution of project management deliverables.
- Develop project proposals for complex projects, including:
- Ensuring a clear understanding of project scope and terms across all disciplines.
- Facilitating proposal development, including project execution plans, estimation, compilation, and on-time delivery.
- Coordinating legal reviews with TRC Legal Staff prior to contract signing.
- Facilitating quotes for subcontracted services and material procurement.
- Compiling project risks, evaluating probability and impact, and planning mitigation and contingency.
- Manage project resources, including:
- Ensuring adequate resources are assigned to the project.
- Monitoring and reporting man-hours against budget.
- Overseeing subcontractor management and procurement execution.
- Coordinating activities across multiple offices and managing remote resources.
- Oversee project financial management:
- Ensuring project budgeted costs and profits are met or improved.
- Implementing strategies to increase project margins.
- Managing timely and comprehensive change orders.
- Establishing and maintaining project cash flows.
- Facilitating efficient project billing within company accounting practices.
- Implementing earned value tracking and reporting.
- Manage project schedules, including:
- Developing and maintaining project schedules for complex projects.
- Understanding and scheduling project construction, including sequencing critical milestones.
- Ensuring adherence to the Power Delivery Quality Control Program, including appropriate time and resource allocation.
- Handle project administration, including:
- Properly capturing and filing all project documentation (contracts, invoices, meeting minutes, reports, and communications).
- Maintain effective communication with clients, project teams, and TRC management through:
- Timely and accurate internal and external reporting.
- Executing efficient project meetings.
- Ensuring clear communication between all project disciplines.
- Demonstrate safety leadership by prioritizing safety and adhering to TRC and client safety policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business, or Construction Management from an accredited institution (required).
- Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience (8 years preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for internal and external clients.
- Strong attention to detail for quality control and deliverables.
- Proficiency with software tools such as Microsoft Office and MS Project.
- Demonstrated experience managing successful complex projects.
- Knowledge of and experience with Project Management, Project Controls, and Construction Management.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Occasional travel may be required to support client, project, and team needs.
- Work from nearby TRC/WSP offices is available.
- Physically able to perform the essential functions of the position.

Pay
Salary Range: USD $117,000.00 – USD $145,000.00 per year.
Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program, contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators.
