YOUR PURPOSE

In the role of a Project Manager, you will lead projects from vision to completion, ensuring every outcome reflects exceptional design, disciplined execution, and a seamless client experience.

YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS + IMPACT

  • Key Leadership Actions:
    • Collaborate with Principals and Partners to shape project strategy: proposal fee negotiations and assembling and guiding project teams.
    • Develop project fees aligned with scope, staffing, market conditions, and cost analysis.
    • Prepare and maintain a comprehensive project management plan that guides the work from conception through completion.
    • Manage project scope relative to the contract, tracking changes in scope, schedule, and budget with clarity and discipline.
    • Monitor project performance, ensuring alignment with budget, schedule expectations, and quality standards.
    • Lead effective project meetings, setting agendas, documenting decisions, and communicating progress.
    • Cook up workload across the project lifecycle, ensuring the team is supported and positioned for success.
    • Encourage strong communication across disciplines and create opportunities for teamwork, inclusion, and a positive work environment.
    • Lead multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and a shared commitment to quality.
    • Build trusted client relationships, serving as a strategic partner who listens, communicates proactively, and delivers on promises.
    • Drive project and business success, balancing financial performance with exceptional client experience and opportunities for continued relationships.
    • Collaborate with Principals and Partners to negotiate additional service fees when client-requested changes impact scope.
    • Mentor and guide project team members, contributing to their growth and long-term success.
    • Participate in professional organizations and external activities that strengthen the firm’s presence.
  • Client Engagement:
    • Participate in business development efforts, including marketing, networking, and involvement in professional organizations, to build meaningful future client relationships.
    • Develop proposals by shaping fees, defining scope, selecting teams, establishing schedules, and preparing for interviews.
    • Collaborate with Principals and Partners to prepare contracts that clearly define expectations and responsibilities.
    • Engage in client interviews to understand client needs, priorities, and project goals.
    • Work closely with clients during planning and design to determine solutions, define scope, and ensure the project aligns with their vision.
    • Build trust through proactive communication, thoughtful problem-solving, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional client experience.
  • Project Leadership:
    • Construct the project scope of work and develop project budgets.
    • Early concept phase through construction and completion, ensuring alignment with design intent, schedule, contractual obligations, and budget goals.
    • Collaborate with the design team on technical decisions, design presentations, and project reviews, adherence to scope and budget.
    • Cook up workload across the project lifecycle, ensuring the team is supported and positioned for success.
    • Coordinate outside consultants, including selection, fee negotiation, invoice review, and ongoing communication.
    • Provide expertise in production meetings, helping the team navigate challenges with confidence.
    • Monitor quality control of documents and deliverables, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and technical excellence.
    • Track scope, schedule, and budget changes, communicating impacts and guiding the team through adjustments.
    • Conduct construction site visits to observe progress and verify alignment with design and documentation.
    • Ensure all project activities support client satisfaction, project profitability, and opportunities for future work.

Professional Foundations

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, or Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Professional licensure or industry-relevant certifications and accreditations preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • A well-rounded understanding of the architecture, engineering, and design process, including how projects move from concept phase through construction.
  • Knowledge of building systems, construction materials, codes, and industry standards to guide teams and ensure technical excellence.
  • Strong familiarity with construction administration and construction practices that allow effective collaboration with contractors and field teams.
  • Understanding of various project delivery methods, from studies and programming to concept design and project close-out.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Teams) to support project management and business operations.
  • Knowledge of project accounting systems preferred.
