About the role
The Poole and Kent Corporation is a wholly owned subsidiary of EMCOR Group, Inc., a leading provider of mechanical and electrical construction, facilities services, and energy infrastructure. Our construction experience includes a broad range of commercial and government projects, such as data centers, hospitals, sports stadiums, convention centers, hotels, and research laboratories.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership and management in the execution of the assigned project in a manner consistent with the company's mission and core values.
- Independently oversee all aspects of the assigned project from start to finish.
- Oversee and mitigate risks that arise during project performance.
- Drive the project towards achieving and exceeding sales, profitability, and cash flow goals aligned with business objectives.
- Timely and accurate reporting to executive officers on the project's operating condition.
- Collaborate with preconstruction, scheduling, purchasing, prefabrication, drafting, and executive teams to achieve project deliverables.
- Act as a client-care officer by maintaining direct contact with clients and partners throughout the project.
- Partner with project estimators to ensure a complete scope of work is defined.
- Maintain project budgets and monitor labor costs.
- Prepare and present computer-generated spreadsheets and reports.
- Maintain regular communication and collaboration with project superintendents by visiting job sites.
- Report and resolve employee concerns and grievances as needed.
- Ensure job site employees maintain a safe work environment through safety audits and conducting toolbox talks.
- Attend and conduct meetings as required.
- Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs.
- Lead, direct, and manage project personnel.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
- At least ten years of direct and independent experience in managing large commercial construction projects.
- Direct experience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel applications.
- Experience with financial management software relevant to project management accounting.
