About the role

TPI is seeking an experienced Project Manager to help build the TPI Project Office while directly delivering project work across engineering, technology, and R&D functions. This dual-mandate role is central to establishing frameworks, controls, and tooling for planning, resourcing, measuring, and delivering work as TPI scales its actinium-225 production. You will partner with engineering, technology, R&D, and operations leaders to drive project scope and architect governance, project controls, and portfolio disciplines for TPI’s future-state Project Office. Success requires strong project controls fundamentals, sound judgment, and the ability to operate with limited direction in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. Multiple positions may be filled from this posting, spanning project delivery, project controls, scheduling, and portfolio reporting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the embedded project manager for one or more engineering and technology functions (e.g., Systems Engineering, mechanical and containment design, process integration, or R&D chemistry), planning and driving end-to-end project delivery.
• Contribute to the design and stand-up of the TPI Project Office framework, including governance structures, delivery-lane definitions, and cross-cutting disciplines such as project controls, risk management, vendor/contract management, and portfolio management.
• Build and maintain project controls for assigned scope: develop work breakdown structures, establish resource-loaded schedules, and manage baselines throughout execution.
• Coordinate scheduling in Primavera P6 with the master scheduler, including resource loading/leveling, integration of external engineering and vendor schedules, and recurring update/reporting cycles.
• Establish and run performance measurement and reporting, including milestone and earned-value tracking, variance analysis, and portfolio dashboards (e.g., Power BI) for project teams and leadership.
• Operate change management through a disciplined project change request process, maintaining live change logs and risk registers and driving timely resolution.
• Support portfolio intake and categorization, ensuring consistent classification and planning of new and in-flight work.
• Stand up and steward project management tooling—including enterprise scheduling, time tracking, and portfolio reporting—while ensuring separation between validated-quality systems and project tools.
• Coordinate interfaces with contracted engineering/EPC partners and specialized equipment vendors, holding scope, schedule, and deliverables to agreed standards.
• Author and refine Project Office governance artifacts (policies, procedures, templates) and support training/adoption across the organization.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with quality, operations, engineering, and R&D to align delivery with safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• B.S. in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related discipline from an accredited university.
• 6+ years of project management experience with a strong foundation in project controls (scheduling, cost, earned value, and change control).
• Demonstrated experience helping build or stand up a project management office, project controls function, or comparable delivery framework—ideally in a startup, scale-up, or fast-growth environment.
• Proficiency with Atlassian tooling (Confluence and Jira) and familiarity with enterprise scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or comparable platforms.
• Experience delivering projects in a regulated or high-compliance environment (e.g., cGMP/pharmaceutical, nuclear, aerospace, or other safety-critical industries).
• Self-directed and able to operate effectively with limited direction, bringing structure to ambiguity in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to communicate and drive alignment across multidisciplinary teams (engineering, R&D, quality, operations).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including producing clear governance documentation and concise leadership-level reporting.
• PMP, PMI-SP, or equivalent certification preferred.
• Prior experience in radiopharmaceutical, nuclear, or radiological environments strongly preferred.

TerraPower Isotopes' technology is controlled for export by U.S. Government agencies. Applicants who are foreign nationals (other than asylees, refugees, or lawful permanent residents) will be evaluated in accordance with export control requirements. Government export authorization approval times vary; TerraPower may not consider foreign nationals from certain countries if timely approval is impracticable.

Pay

$138,685 - $208,027 (Washington State). Offers are typically placed in the lower to middle portion of the range to maintain internal equity and allow for growth. Salary is based on market data and individual qualifications/experience.
