Job Summary

Oversees and manages fiber optic installation projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads and manages fiber optic installation projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Develops and maintains project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations under tight deadlines.

  • Communicates effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members regarding project goals, progress, and issues.

  • Supervises project staff, both virtually and on-site, ensuring all team members are adequately prepared for project tasks.

  • Reads and interprets splice diagrams and construction drawings.

  • Troubleshoots issues related to fiber optic installations and ensures compliance with industry standards.

  • Utilizes IQGEO, OCUISX and GIS systems to manage project data and logistics effectively.

  • Counsels and conducts virtual and physical site inspections to assess project status, quality control, and safety compliance.

  • Ensures all work meets regulatory requirements and best practices in fiber optic installation.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Engineering or a related field required.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in project management or a similar role required.

  • Proven experience managing aggressive project schedules and leading teams.

  • Strong knowledge of fiber optic technology, splice diagrams, and installation practices required.

  • Proficient in IQGEO, GIS, and other project management software required.

  • Must be able to travel as needed to various project sites and markets, which may require long hours and flexibility in schedule.

  • Ability to work long hours involving overtime and weekends, as necessary.

  • Ability to respond to the needs of a 24/7/365 operation.

  • Must be able to work emergency schedules during natural disasters and network outages.

  • Thorough understanding of engineering, architectural, and other construction drawings.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds several times a day.

  • Overhead lifting of over 20 pounds.

  • Must be able to work in confined spaces (i.e., attics, crawl spaces, utility holes).

  • Position requires working outdoors in all types of weather.

  • Ability to climb and work at elevations (i.e., ladders, poles, lift trucks) exceeding 18 feet.
