Founded in 1987, RAND Engineering & Architecture, DPC is an employee-owned, 115+ person Manhattan-based firm that designs, specifies, and administers restoration, upgrade, and adaptive re-use programs on behalf of owners, managers, and co-op and condo boards.

Responsibilities

  • Successfully manage and administer AIA contracts for various project types including capital improvement programs, exterior rehabilitation, building system upgrades, forensic investigations, and interior alterations.
  • Execute and/or assist on multiple projects in all phases: Investigation and Planning, Budget Estimating, Contract Document Preparation, Bidding, Analysis and Negotiation, Municipal Filing, Construction Administration, and Close-out within the project budget.
  • Manage projects of medium to large scale scope under direct supervision, following directions and supporting operational standards.
  • Coordinate all project efforts (administrative and technical) to ensure efficient and cost-effective execution.
  • Coordinate Architects, Engineers, and Designers to maintain project quality with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Conduct design problem-solving, documentation, and field observations for small projects independently with input from senior team members.
  • Prepare project documents, including meeting minutes, field reports, investigation reports, cost estimates, and project timelines.
  • Sustain positive client relationships; attend meetings with clients, contractors, and consultants at regular intervals.
  • Ensure adherence to project workplans and proactively communicate issues to senior team members.
  • Anticipate and troubleshoot project-specific problems, participating in solution development.
  • Maintain current knowledge of New York City building codes, including historic building codes.
  • Spend 25%–75% of time in the field during any given week.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Architecture.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in construction administration.
  • Ability to manage individual workload, negotiate competing priorities, and understand common construction.
  • Exhibit curiosity for existing building infrastructures.
  • New York City construction industry experience is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Mastery in planning, estimating, scheduling, budgeting/cost control, construction document preparation, construction observation, and client relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, organization, leadership skills, and ability to train and monitor others for quality and completeness.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $75,000 – $95,000 USD per year.
