Position Summary
The Construction Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering mechanical/plumbing construction projects from award through completion. This role manages project schedules, budgets, manpower, procurement, quality, and safety while ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to company and client standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
- Direct and support Project Engineers, General Superintendents, and Foremen.
- Conduct project handoff meetings and assign project resources.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, manpower plans, and forecasts.
- Visit job sites weekly to monitor progress, quality, safety, and project performance.
- Cooky/coordinator with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Procure materials and equipment while managing costs and maintaining project budgets.
- Review purchase orders, fabrication drawings, contracts, specifications, and change orders.
- Ensure all change orders are properly approved before work begins.
- Monitor project financials, approve invoices, and provide weekly status updates to management.
- Maintain quality control standards and ensure compliance with company policies, building codes, and OSHA safety requirements.
- Attend weekly project management meetings and monthly billing meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of Project Management or Project Engineer experience in the mechanical/plumbing construction industry. Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience. Commercial and/or industrial construction experience preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
- Strong understanding of project financials and budgeting.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Bluebeam.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
Certifications
- OSHA Safety Training preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- This position operates in both office and field environments and requires regular travel to job sites. Must be able to sit, stand, walk active construction sites, and occasionally lift or move materials as needed.
Pay & Benefits
Salary Range: $90,000 - $125,000. Pay to be commensurate with experience. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.
