Essential Duties
- Supporting the PMO’s project management database(s)
- Being the primary liaison in the Town’s project management team to facilitate housing and environmental resiliency projects
- Ensuring the Town’s sustainable practices are considered by project managers and vendors
- Tracking and reporting on townwide portfolio of projects within the PMO
- Planning, executing, and supervising a variety of projects or consultants to meet strategic objectives and ensure project delivery within budget and on time
- Overseeing the Housing and Environmental Resiliency areas of the project management database to ensure schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables for multiple municipal projects are being met
- Monitoring projects and associated internal and external teams to ensure goals and objectives are being met
- Leveraging project management best practices and providing reporting to key stakeholders, including Town Manager and Select Board
- Understanding larger Town-wide strategic needs while tracking individual project health, staying alert for risk, and resolving issues as they arise
- Providing regular status reports to the Assistant Town Manager of Special Projects, Housing Director, and Natural Resources Director or their designee and others as assigned
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, architecture, construction management, business or public administration, environmental management or a related field required
- 3+ years’ experience using a formal approach and methodology for portfolio management, ideally in a municipal setting
- Experience implementing an IT system to support business process improvement is highly desired, but not required
Special Requirements
- Proficiency with project management software and applications required
- The employee must have a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License
- PMP certification desired but not required upon hire but obtaining within 24 months of hire desired
- Familiarity with Massachusetts procurement processes desired
- Massachusetts Certified Public Procurement Officer (MCPPO) designation preferred but not required
- PMO experience preferred
- Massachusetts Owner’s Project Manager (OPM) certification or experience desirable but not required
- Experience with capital plan management
Salary Range
$114,271.04 - $139,688.64 per year
Compensation commensurate with experience and subject to negotiation.
This position is eligible for remote or telecommuting (remote/in-person) work with Town approval.
