Project Manager

About the Role

As the project champion, the Project Manager drives projects from specification to shipment of initial products. This role establishes project plans, coordinates reviews, and ensures proper implementation of project elements. The Project Manager leads projects by scheduling, planning, forecasting, resource planning, relaying updates to clients, and overseeing technical, procurement, and compliance activities. Collaborating with a cross-functional team, this position demonstrates strong project management, organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills to ensure successful project completion. The Project Manager holds final planning decision authority based on inputs from team members and engineering management.

Responsibilities

• Track and proactively ensure delivery of milestones for assigned projects, including:
  • Proposal and quoting
  • Contract review
  • Project kickoff
  • Project/Design review(s)
  • Job Order Creation
  • Kitting Completion
  • Quoting and purchase order completion
  • Initial hardware build
  • Release to Production activities
  • Project Completion
• Provide direction to team members to achieve project milestones.
• Ensure actions are taken to mitigate risk throughout the project.
• Assist the commercial team by providing project updates to maintain alignment with project and business goals.
• Ensure delivery of compliant hardware and, where applicable, First Article Inspection Report (FAIR).
• Conduct weekly or bi-weekly calls with customers for timeline updates.
• React to and address project issues by developing and executing an effective recovery plan.
• Escalate issues to management for resolution.
• Provide feedback to management regarding team member performance.
• Perform all other actions related to New Product Development (NPD) project completion as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
