Project Manager

About the role
The Project Manager serves as a key representative of the Security Department, bridging strategic direction from upper management with day-to-day operational execution. This role leads and coordinates complex security system projects across the Montefiore Health System—including CCTV, Card Access, Panic and Burglar Alarm systems, and related initiatives—from concept to completion. The Project Manager acts as the department’s subject-matter expert and liaison, translating leadership directives into actionable plans while ensuring alignment with institutional standards, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. Although this position does not include direct supervision, it provides guidance, mentorship, and cross-team coordination to achieve departmental goals.
Responsibilities
- Track and maintain project budgets, commitments, expenditures, invoices, and available balances.
- Make timely, accurate project-related entries in Strata and Infor systems; reconcile invoices and generate financial reports.
- Solicit, review, compare, and level competitive bids from approved vendors to ensure proposals are complete, consistent, and fairly evaluated for scope, pricing, qualifications, schedule, and compliance with Montefiore standards.
- Prepare bid comparisons and recommendations for Security leadership review and approval.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Ten or more years of relevant experience.
- Certified Project Manager (CPM) or Associate in Project Management (APM) certification required; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Knowledge of general project management, CCTV, Card Access, and other security systems, IT systems and protocols.
- Proficiency with general computer applications, including Excel.
