Project Manager

Description

The Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of customer projects, leading a team of Engineers and Technicians to ensure projects are delivered on-time, within budget, and of high quality.

• Design mechanical activities to meet budget and time expectations as defined in project proposals and cost sheets
• Accurately and timely review Mechanical Engineering documentation packages for each customer project
• Meet budget and deadline requirements for pallets, critical stations, and all systems
• Review Software Design Specifications with the project's Controls & Mechanical Engineer
• Support Validation team in creating and testing validation packages according to customer specifications
• Collaborate with other Project Managers and Functional Managers to streamline activities and address technical challenges
• Share projects with other Mikron Project Managers when requested
• Troubleshoot engineering modifications during the debugging phase and propose solutions with support from the project's PE, team, and technical experts
• Lead activities during Internal Acceptance Tests and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)/Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
• Collaborate with Functional Managers for project execution activities
• Review Mechanical, Control, Electrical, and assembly/debugging activities
• Lead project meetings and morning meetings in the debugging floor

Requirements

• Must manage suppliers for technical aspects including equipment buy-off
• Communicate project delays, risks, costs, and deadlines to the Director of Customer Projects
• Provide guidelines and sketches for design stations
• Coordinate resource requests and forecasts with Functional Managers
• Perform root cause analysis using techniques like Fishbone Diagrams
• Adhere to Mikron standards, work instructions, and procedures
• Analyze and interpret customer URS, design proposals, specifications, and manuals
• Organize and lead project design reviews
• Prioritize activities during project execution phases
• Manage inventory of customer-supplied products and inform customers of potential impacts
• Estimate costs and delivery times during project execution
• Work with Excel cost sheets and understand their data
• Drive daily work activities with the project team and in the debugging area

Qualifications

• 4+ years' experience in a lead position in the Automation industry or similar field
• BS in Engineering or relevant field
• Preferred qualifications include industrial automation experience, medical/pharmaceutical manufacturing industry knowledge, software experience (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, PDM/PLM, ERP), supervisory experience, and proficiency in estimating costs and delivery times

Other Job-Related Experience or Requirements

• Able to travel up to 20% of the year as requested and on short notice
• Available to work flexible hours and hours necessary to meet deadlines

• Software experience (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, PDM/PLM, ERP)
• Supervisory experience
• Experience in a role supervising or managing other Engineers or Project Managers
