About the Role

The Project Manager oversees assigned projects from quoting through final close-out, including coordination of schedules, staffing, contractors, materials, equipment, procurement, and budgets. This role may serve as the primary customer contact and involves onsite management, cross-functional collaboration, and adherence to contract specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Review plans and technical documents, monitor project costs and progress, and address scope or timing questions.
  • Conduct Pre-Hand-Off and Post-Hand-Off meetings with sales and operations teams to clarify scope, expectations, and lessons learned.
  • Interpret contract language and ensure project execution remains within scope.
  • Plan, administer, and complete multi-phased projects across functional areas (facilities, operations, administration).
  • Supervise staff, provide work direction, and verify/approve payroll.
  • Communicate with clients, contractors, designers, and subcontractors via RFI/Q/P processes regarding cost, scope, staffing, scheduling, and change orders.
  • Collaborate with teams to execute and revise project management plans using a structured change order process.
  • Prepare project status reports and ensure adherence to contract specifications.
  • Manage all job site activities for crews and subcontractors.
  • Work closely with sales teams and safety professionals on project phases, safety training, and incident investigations.
  • Direct onsite activities and travel to client job sites as required.
  • Develop detailed project schedules, including milestones, deliverables, dependencies, budgets, and risks.
  • Facilitate weekly meetings to update progress, resolve issues, and communicate with stakeholders and executives.
  • Maintain project files in SharePoint for continuity and historic documentation.
  • Demonstrate professional conduct aligned with company mission, vision, and values.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.
  • Five+ years of experience in machinery moving, construction, project management, or construction safety.
  • Familiarity with field concepts, practices, procedures, and risks.
  • Proven ability to plan and achieve goals using extensive experience and judgment.

  • Highly self-directed, motivated, and effective in team or independent settings.
  • Hands-on experience with field technicians in machine tool assembly and erection.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, time management, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts early and contribute to team meetings.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting data, schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints.
  • Advanced MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SharePoint skills.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean background, and ability to travel.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
  • Comfort working at heights, near moving machinery, and in non-temperature-controlled or outdoor environments with uneven terrain.
  • Top-of-mind awareness for safety of self and others on job sites.
  • Willingness to work in all weather conditions.
