About the role
We are looking for a Project Manager to join our growing operation in New Iberia, LA.
Responsibilities
- Interface daily with Customers, Vendors, Sales Operations Manager, Sales Staff and Support Personnel to ensure assigned performance objectives are met safely, on schedule and on budget.
- Oversee assigned projects to assure they are completed satisfactorily, on time and within budget.
- Inspect completed Cat Power installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design, equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
- Work closely with sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure all stakeholder expectations are met.
- Plan and implement research methodology and procedures to apply sound engineering principles to assigned projects.
- Utilizes corporate software including but not limited to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Project Management as well as CRM software to ensure data is managed and reporting is accurate.
- Review technical drawings and specifications of mechanical and electrical systems to ensure that installation and operations conform to Caterpillar application standards and customer requirements.
- Develop and submit complete project submittals for customers to review and approve.
- Investigate customer complaints, determine nature and extent of problem, and recommend remedial measures in a timely manner.
- Assist in planning of project layouts for Caterpillar’s portfolio of Electric Power, Oil and Gas, Marine and Industrial products and assist the Sales Team in the influence of future sales.
- Aid in the development of budgets, estimating labor, and material costs for assigned projects and related equipment for PO Change orders.
- Conduct field surveys at customer locations, study specifications, drawings, and other engineering data to identify and correct power system problems.
- Follow and enforce all safety rules and procedures; identify and report all safety issues.
- Complete training requirements identified by Caterpillar to earn and maintain job specific training certifications as required.
- Embrace and support quality management system initiatives to achieve a continuous improvement environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Construction Management, or Business preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Excel, with the ability to quickly learn new programs.
- Strong teamwork skills are critical.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to successfully multi-task and work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external technical resources and business area leaders.
