Project Manager
About the role
Kitchell seeks experienced and dedicated Project Managers to join our California region in the Greater Los Angeles area and build a long-term career at one of the most innovative and growth-oriented Construction Services companies in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Directs, leads and is accountable for all phases of the projects
- Ensures project operations are executed in accordance with client and company project management procedures and policies
- Participates in preparation and negotiation of owner contracts and ensures delivery and adherence to contractual requirements and that all aspects of owner contracts are accomplished
- Affords assistance to owner in the procurement of design professional and consultant services, and administers contracts
- Prepares project budget, maintains cost control information, identifies cost impacts, and provides recommendations for cost control
- Prepares master project schedule, ensures preparation of construction schedule, assesses any delays, and enforces schedule conformance
- Manages and coordinates the design review process and participates in value engineering sessions
- Ensures contractor bid interest, organizes, and directs pre-bid conference, analyzes bid results, and recommends bidder for contract award
- Organizes and directs preconstruction activities
- Oversees and evaluates preconstruction and construction progress and team performance to ensure conformance with schedule, budget, and contractual requirements
- Executes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or related field is preferred. 3 to 7 years of related work experience in project and construction management in the public sector required. Experience with the Judicial Market sector, the California Department of General Services (DGS), or City and/or County Department of Public Works is strongly preferred.
- Extensive client-facing experience is required as stakeholders are numerous with different responsibilities.
Skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the advanced ability to foster and maintain effective interpersonal relationships is required.
- Knowledge of architecture, engineering and construction management industry including current conditions and industry network is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project is required.
- Proficiency with Procore software is preferred.

The annual base salary range for this role is currently $128,000 - $160,000. The Company’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of various factors, including job-related skills, relevant education and experience, abilities of the applicant and equity with other team members. The annual base salary range listed here is subject to change at any time, in the Company’s discretion, and does not alter in any way the at-will nature of the employment relationship.
