About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager in the construction industry to join our team. This role will oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion, including scheduling deliverables, estimating costs, and ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to determine project specifications.
- Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.
- Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.
- Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
- Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines are met.
- Acquire equipment and materials, monitor stocks, and address inadequacies in a timely manner.
- Hire contractors and other staff, and allocate responsibilities.
- Supervise the work of laborers, mechanics, and other team members, providing guidance as needed.
- Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports.
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a construction project manager with at least 5+ years in a similar role.
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles.
- Familiarity with quality, health, and safety standards.
- Good knowledge of MS Office and construction/project management software.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- A team player with leadership abilities.
- BSc/BA in engineering, building science, or a relevant field.
- PMP or equivalent certification would be considered an advantage.
- Experience in risk management, scheduling, cost control, procurement, and team leadership.
Pay
$90,000 - $120,000 per year
