Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop new and maintain existing customer relationships
- Aid Safety Director and Executive Management in setting annual company goals and monitoring progress
- Create effective communications and conflict resolution mechanisms for various participants
- Create project teams, set objectives/goals, and assign individual responsibilities
- Develop and revise project work plans as needed
- Communicate with contractors about project phases
- Maintain regular progress monitoring and hold regular status meetings with sub-teams
- Maintain strict adherence to budgetary guidelines, quality, and safety standards
- Periodically inspect construction sites
- Ensure project documents are complete
- Identify potential disputes and claims in project design and construction
- Act as a key liaison with clients and review deliverables prepared by the team before presenting to clients
- Research materials, equipment, and labor costs
- Gather quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, construction management, or a related field
Required Experience
- 5 or more years of experience in construction projects
Required Skills/Licenses/Certifications
- Excellent presentation, verbal, written, and people skills
- Thorough knowledge of legal issues and safety standards
- Active driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to plan and organize a team effort
- Capacity to motivate, lead, and boost morale of teams
- Effective time management and logical decision-making ability
- Capacity to handle pressure
- Willingness to travel extensively across construction sites
- Strong focus on quality
Supervisory Responsibility
- Coordinate the efforts of all parties involved in the project, including architects, consultants, contractors, sub-contractors, and laborers
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Sedentary in nature requiring little physical effort and occasional light physical exertion
- Occasional exposure to environmental conditions such as heat, cold, temperature changes, industrial noise, and construction hazards
- Occasional over-the-road and air travel required
Work Schedule
45+ hours per week Monday through Friday
