About the role
This position plays a critical role in driving the bank’s business transformation by leading every phase of approved projects across all areas of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Direct and independent leadership of projects, including sub-components of larger, complex efforts or programs led by other project management colleagues.
- Ownership of projects from approval through post-implementation monitoring and closure, including refining requirements, team resourcing, alignment, and project planning.
- Lead projects using a hybrid of waterfall and agile methodologies, adjusting as appropriate.
- Establish and lead cross-functional project teams from across the organization.
- Anticipate and address risks to scope, quality, budget, or timelines using knowledge of the organization and project management skills.
- Independently resolve most issues where a precedent may not exist.
- Complete project artifacts as required by PMO policy using HomeTrust-defined templates.
- Organize and lead regular consultations with business stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with a Project Coordinator for effective documentation, communication, and scheduling when assigned.
- Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
- Adhere to all corporate policies, procedures, federal and state regulations, and laws, including those related to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), OFAC, lending, and consumer compliance.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, project delivery, project methodologies, strategic planning, or implementation.
- 2+ years of experience leading projects in banking or a related industry.
- Demonstrated ability to develop a project plan and work breakdown structure, including identification of critical path and milestones.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to lead project teams in an environment maturing in its adoption of project management standards.
- Positive, collaborative, and open-minded team player.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or similar certification.
- Familiarity and experience with Smartsheet platform.
- PMP or similar certification.
- Ability to identify and help implement improvements to PMO department and processes.
