About the role
As a Project Manager at GLY, you are a strategic leader who guides projects from early conceptual planning through final closeout, balancing technical excellence, operational precision, and relationship-driven leadership.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Principal/Project Executive/Sr. Project Manager to maximize competitiveness of new building projects.
- Analyze new construction technologies and run competitive estimates.
- Direct all investigations and negotiations pertaining to technical aspects of conceptual estimating and building of projects.
- Demonstrate credible interface with client, design professionals, consultants and trade partners.
- Confer with clients to negotiate terms of contracts.
- Prepare instructions to bid, evaluate and level bids, ensuring full scope coverage.
- Effectively schedule all preconstruction activities.
- Develop and track budgets, leading to the estimate creation.
- Engage trade partners for craftwork such as mechanical, electrical, structural steel, concrete, and plumbing.
- Follow GLY's trade partner prequalification protocol, ensuring timely onboarding of trade partners to meet schedule or procurement deadlines.
- Create a completed project schedule for the construction team and plan for implementation.
- Show strong knowledge of GLY building products.
- Show understanding and proper administration of different contracting types, including, but not limited to: GMP, Lump Sum, GC/CM, and Design/Build.
- Dispense advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out major plans and procedures, consistent with established policies and practice.
- Apply effective problem-solving skills, which are appropriately creative and decisive.
- Create budgets, allocate resources, and determine schedule of project.
- Purchase and ensure that materials for construction are on site as needed.
- Submit accurate monthly cost reports, end of job cost reports and labor forecasts in a timely manner with communication to any challenges arising.
- Inspect work at sites for compliance with terms, schedule and specifications.
- Identify and control risks, demonstrating cost control.
- Conduct effective and timely trade partner/vendor management.
- Conduct timely and accurate close out activities ~60 days from substantial completion.
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ project management experience in commercial construction.
- Minimum 10 years total industry experience.
- Proven track record of winning work as the key selling resource.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- DBIA, LEED, LEAN and / or other related industry accreditations preferred.
- Strong communication skills and proven ability to navigate challenging situations for positive outcomes.
- Excellent written, verbal and other interpersonal communication skills.
- A positive attitude and ability to work well with others.
- Adaptable – you work well under pressure and adapt quickly to different situations and work environments.
- Willingness to learn and an openness to new ideas.
What It Takes

- Salary range for this position is $120,000 to $165,000.

Physical Requirements
- Regular, predictable attendance is required.
- Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
- Ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- Ability to remain in a stationary position at a computer terminal for an extended period.
- Operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine and computer printer.
- Productive in an office environment that is subject to frequent interruptions including moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
- Must be able to wear personal protective gear when required.
- Light to moderate lifting may be required, up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally move about inside the office.
