About the role
This onsite position plans and oversees projects to ensure timely, on-budget completion. The Project Manager designates resources, prepares budgets, monitors progress, and keeps stakeholders informed. Periodic travel to project locations is required.
Responsibilities
- Oversee projects from preparation to completion.
- Consult on takeoff and estimation; create Statements of Work.
- Review construction contracts to ensure terms align with proposed Statements of Work.
- Provide project leadership during design reviews and conduct internal Kick-off Meetings after NTP or contract signing.
- Prepare and submit Shop Drawings and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Coordinate execution with Field Installation crews and/or subcontractors.
- Process Change Orders (COs).
- Manage, maintain, and submit contracted documentation, status, and reports, including close-out documents.
- Coordinate pricing and design efforts with internal engineering personnel and external architectural/engineering firms.
- Prepare cashflow forecasts, actively monitor progress, and keep stakeholders and leadership informed through Weekly/Monthly Reviews using ERP and Project Management tools.
- Create and maintain overall schedules, progress-to-budget reports, ETCs (Estimation To Completion), progress reports (KPIs), submittal logs, RFI logs, and meeting minutes.
- Drive continuous improvements in Gaven Project Management processes and procedures to enhance deliverables and Customer Experience.
- Proactively manage customer relationships as the focal point for Gaven.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Understand fundamentals of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire alarm systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Flexibility to adapt to new challenges and evolving customer requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects.
- Up to 20% travel to project locations around the U.S. for construction coordination meetings.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Five (5) or more years as a Project Manager; construction management experience preferred.
- PMP certification is a plus.
