Project Manager

About the Role

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall management of construction projects, including cost estimates, scheduling, procurement, and logistical coordination. They manage subcontractor and vendor relationships, coordinate with customers, design, and engineering teams, and ensure financial performance and compliance with operating guidelines while achieving project objectives.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with design and engineering teams to ensure projects are designed, procured, and constructed within financial and operating guidelines.
• Develop and monitor job progress schedules to ensure construction aligns with the timeline.
• Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance with the scope of work.
• Issue and manage vendor and trade subcontracts, defining work responsibilities and approving payment requests.
• Purchase and monitor the delivery of materials to ensure optimal prices, quality, and conformance to specifications.
• Visit jobsites weekly (if logistically possible) to review progress and quality; conduct jobsite coordinator meetings.
• Anticipate safety hazards, lead safety incident review meetings, and maintain safety documentation.
• Navigate difficult conversations with project owners/clients regarding costs, quality, or schedules.
• Prepare reports such as monthly status updates, analysis, schedules, billings, and stakeholder reports.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant construction management experience in the industrial arena.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• At least 3 years with profit and loss responsibility on multiple projects.
• Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Project, Word), PDF, estimating, and document programs.
• Able to read and interpret construction documents.
• High level of emotional intelligence with the ability to build relationships and work with diverse personality types.
• Proven experience with contracting methods such as lump sum, GMP, cost-plus construction management, and fee-based construction.
• Working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and related reports.
