Project Manager

About the role

As a Project Manager, your primary duties will be overseeing technical and financial aspects of various projects, managing and developing client relationships, and marketing Pickett’s services to existing and new clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage various projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities
• Ensure project costs, schedule and scope are maintained, including the development of recovery plans, to stay within approved limits
• Cook up financial controls reports with Accounting and Project Controls to produce weekly/monthly reports for client and internal review (i.e., Financial Reports, Action Item Lists, Resource loading analysis and schedules, etc.)
• Interface directly with the client and internal management to report progress, costs, schedule and risks across a portfolio of assigned projects
• Communicate with clients, internal project teams, multiple disciplines, functional leaders, subcontractors, and support personnel
• Aid in the preparation of bid documents, development of requests for proposal responses and cost estimates
• Support Marketing with proposal development, including scope, schedule and budgets
• Write comprehensive and technical project reports
• Collaborate with Accounting and Project Controls on monthly client invoicing and accounts receivable
• Perform other duties as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline (preferred)
• Minimum of 5 to 10 years of related experience (required)
• PE registration or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (required)
• Previous project management experience with a utility or engineering consulting firm is highly desired
• Experience in transmission line design and management (preferred)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Some travel is required
