Project Manager

About the role
Eagle Electrical Services seeks a Project Manager to oversee Project Engineer(s) and Assistant Project Manager(s), coordinate project scheduling with Project Supervisor(s), and ensure field teams adhere to company standard operating procedures while clearly understanding project scopes, tasks, and schedules. This role manages all project resources efficiently to deliver work within budget and ahead of schedule. This is an in-person position located in Plain City, OH, and does not qualify for hybrid or remote work.
Responsibilities
- Drive projects from inception to completion, ensuring effective organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation.
- Support field personnel with subcontractor relations and resolve field problems.
- Maintain full financial responsibility for projects, including understanding construction financial and accounting practices.
- Ensure efficient project document control, including insurance, bonding, permits, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and correspondence.
- Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve work procedures, complaints, or construction problems.
- Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking reports.
- Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, environmental regulations, or other regulations.
- Select subcontractors and equipment suppliers with input from engineering, estimating, and purchasing teams.
- Verify correct drawings are distributed to field personnel.
- Create schedule of values or billing formats as required by contract documents.
- Develop project schedules showing completion and delivery dates, subcontractor requirements, and integrate them into overall project and manpower schedules.
- Understand notice requirements and write purchase orders for major equipment and subcontractors, including shipping requirements and delivery dates.
- Host and attend meetings with internal and external entities to review scheduling, work plans, job progress, manpower, and solutions to setbacks.
- Support the accounting department in monthly billings, collections, and follow-up on outstanding balances.
- Collaborate with foremen on project safety, toolbox talks, and weekly walk-throughs.
- Obtain as-builts from the field and request CAD from engineering.
- Escalate critical or sensitive issues to the Division Manager/Project Executive with recommendations for resolution.
- Comply with company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum 3-5 years of related experience in electrical construction or a similar industry.
- Working knowledge of the construction industry and contract documentation, including federal, state, and city regulations and guidelines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Familiarity with Accubid, AutoCAD, Revit, and other electrical, technical, or construction programs is a plus.
- Familiarity with project management and document control software.
- Familiarity with construction and financial software packages.
