Core Responsibilities
- Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance with zero harm and zero incidents.
- Lead and manage small to mid-size capital engineering & procurement projects (up to $30M TIC) from proposal through closeout, including FEL-3, detailed design, procurement, fabrication and construction management.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams; foster positive client engagement and clear decision-making.
- Prepare engineering project Decision Support Packages for new projects or the next phase of a project.
- Lead meetings with clients, contractors, and internal staff.
- Prepare written communications and reports.
- Manage and control the project’s cost and schedule by ensuring that effective project controls are in place including the change management system.
- Identify and implement value engineering opportunities and continuous improvements.
- Capture and apply lessons learned throughout project lifecycle.
Job Requirements
- Education: Accredited four-year Bachelor's degree in engineering or another technical field from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
- Experience: A minimum of seven (7) years related experience with a minimum of three (3) years project management experience in heavy industrial, complex engineering projects.
- Location: This position is based at a Client Site. Fridays may be work from home, with prior approval from the program manager.
- Skills: Advanced understanding of capital project delivery and execution across all project phases, including FEL, detailed design, and construction support; strong command of project controls, including scheduling, planning, estimating, cost management, forecasting, and change management; proven ability to manage multiple priorities and complex workstreams in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment; excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to stakeholders; highly detail-oriented with demonstrated accountability and consistent follow-through on commitments; demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate effectively in client-facing, onsite environments; in-depth understanding and application of phase-gate project delivery processes, including project funding and approval frameworks.
