Project Manager

Responsibilities

• Define and understand project scope
• Identify and supply deliverables
• Aid in business development for project resource requirements
• Manage subcontractor bid packages, communications, and transmittals
• Create and complete pricing sheets
• Manage subcontractor selection, notifications, and possible re-pricing
• Schedule and execute project kick-off meetings with clients and subcontractors
• Develop and manage project team, assigning and coordinating roles and responsibilities
• Develop and maintain project schedule, ensuring achievement of critical milestones
• Oversee labor and capital resources, plan and participate in progress and strategic planning meetings
• Maintain and control project budgets and margins
• Approve subcontractor invoices and client billing
• Identify, mitigate, and resolve project issues and concerns
• Ensure safety policies, procedures, and standards are met, or exceeded
• Manage project scope by documenting and executing changes and/or change orders
• Communicate and report project updates, metrics, and overall performance to sponsors
• Oversee Quality Assurance/Quality Control of Engineering and Procurement deliverables
• Complete all change order activity for both the client and subcontractors
• Verify material delivery, invoicing, and payments
• Close out project documentation, including testing and commissioning, engineering as-built drawings, and drawing revisions
• Finalize customer billing, including retention

Qualifications

• Prior experience managing contracted work with Municipal and/or Investor Owned Utilities
• Thorough understanding of utility industry practices/standards, operations, and contract management with emphasis on power projects
• 3+ years experience with Substation construction (preferred but not essential)
