Meet Amy, a Babcock Project Manager at the Clyde site, who worked in online creation before switching to a career in nuclear. “My role at Babcock has opened up a new way of thinking for me, where I'm able to focus on resolving higher-level problems while supported by a technical team. Plus, it's a really interesting place to work – no two days are the same!”
About the role
A career in nuclear can start from anywhere. Before making the change, Amy worked in content creation producing ads for a digital media company, which could be considered a world away from work in the nuclear sector. After finding she was enjoying the project elements of the job more than the creative side, Amy transitioned into project management at Babcock.
“As someone interested in project work, the broad range of projects Babcock is involved in immediately appealed to me. I was lucky enough to get the chance to complete the Association of Project Management qualification, which was a strong selling point for transitioning into a new industry.”
