Project Manager
About the role
The Project Manager at Nicewood is responsible for overseeing complex millwork projects from initial planning through fabrication, shipping, and delivery. This is a role for someone who thrives on complexity and accountability.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary client contact across the full project lifecycle, from drawing review and technical clarification through fabrication milestones and delivery.
- Collaborate with our CAD engineers to oversee shop drawing production, review and maintain updated drawing sets, and ensure all documents reflect current client specifications.
- Develop project schedules in coordination with the Production Manager, identify long-lead procurement items early, and monitor milestones to keep every project on track.
- Build and manage detailed project budgets, including material costs, labor estimates, and vendor pricing. Track expenditures and flag variances before they become problems.
- Conduct site visits to capture field dimensions, validate architectural plans, and confirm specifications directly with architects and contractors.
- Manage change orders, scope adjustments, and client-initiated revisions with clear documentation and stakeholder communication throughout.
Requirements
We are looking for a driven, detail-oriented Project Manager with experience in architectural millwork, custom fabrication, commercial construction, or a closely related field. Strong candidates will be able to demonstrate project coordination or management experience, proficiency with AutoCAD or similar design software, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
