About the role

This position will support capital improvement projects for a public works client and act as an Owner's Representative to successfully manage budget, schedule, and quality. Our public works team serves as prime consultants to various municipality, county, state, and public education institutions nationally. You will team with project, program, and client leadership to provide premier public facilities that make a positive impact in the communities we support.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and coordinate all aspects of the project schedule, scope, and cost.
  • Communicate with and manage project stakeholders.
  • Evaluate documents and communicate the client’s specific goals and expectations to all project team members.
  • Develop and communicate action plans that will lead the project team throughout the project, beginning with the initial Project Management Plan.
  • Re-evaluate the contract scope of work as the project progresses against the goals, expectations, and the needs of the client, and recommend adjustments as necessary.
  • Coordinate with Inspector of Record (IOR), Fire Marshall, and other regulatory agencies to facilitate successful inspections and completion of projects.
  • Drive the permitting process by designing team documents to be submitted to various local, state, and federal agencies and ensure the applicable permits are moving through the process efficiently.
  • Ensure the project design management continues to follow the client project documents such as budget, scope, schedule, and client's design standards.
  • Prepare cost and revenue projections.
  • Organize and maintain framework for project team processes and record keeping of electronic and physical documents.
  • Handle contracts and claim negotiations.
  • Manage budget development and execution.
  • Ability to run larger, more complex projects.
  • Effectively delegate project tasks to the project management team.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to monitor scope throughout the project and recommend adjustments when necessary.
  • Ability to prepare and communicate cost and revenue projections.
  • Knowledge of permitting process and ability to drive the process to meet project timelines.
  • Knowledge of the complete project lifecycle, including closeout work.
  • Utilize effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Deliver quality work product by role modeling organizational core values.
  • Hold self accountable to individual and team goals.
  • Consistently communicate and collaborate with team members and clients.
  • Demonstrate ability to be dependable, diligent, and thorough.
  • Exercise creativity and resourcefulness in managing the project effectively in a compressed timeframe.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field required.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in Project Management, engineering, or construction management, including at least three (3) years independently managing public works projects.
  • Prior experience with city building projects such as police stations, fire stations, etc. preferred.
  • Preferred certifications: CCM, PMP, PE, AIA, LEED.

Pay

The salary range for this full-time role is $115,100.00–$153,500.02 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience, and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package.
